Bullets on the Table, Sailor Brawl, and Gun Found on 17th Street

Last week, Seal Beach Police had their hands full with a 12-person brawl, and fire fighters responded to a report of smoke on Burning Tree Lane.

October the 24th

At 3:33 p.m. a caller reported a disturbance near the 12th Street and Pacific Coast Highway intersection. According to the report, a 50-year-old man with a gray beard was siting on a bus stop bench and was threatening the informant. The informant said the man was swearing at him for no reason. Police were unable to locate the suspect. 

At 4:02 p.m. a caller reported an identity theft near Fern Circle. The informant reported that an unknown subject used their credit card to make a purchase for $337 at a liquor store.

At 5:06 p.m. firefighters were called to investigate smoke coming from Burning Tree Lane. The smoke was coming from a toaster fire near Leisure World. Firefighters assisted with properly handling the burning toaster.

At 12:37 p.m. a caller reported a drunk driver near Main Street. Three men were seen stumbling out of a bar and were barely able to walk as they got into a white Ford truck and drove off. Police were unable to locate the men. 

At 10:16 p.m. police were called to conducted a welfare check near Montecito Road. An 85-year-old woman pressed her Life Alert button and told the informant that she was being beaten by her caretaker. According to the report police found nothing wrong with the woman. 

At 12:50 a.m. there was a 12-person fight near the Main and Central Intersection. According to the report, the suspects appeared to be service men and were escorted to the Seal Beach Navel Weapons Storage base. 

At 1:00 p.m. a caller reported a disturbed subject near Seal Beach Boulevard. A man was being verbal with people as he was begging for money and was also seen looking into people's cars. The man was later seen walking around with a gas can. Police contacted the suspect. 

October the 26th

At 6:16 p.m. a caller reported a suspicious person near Golden Rain Road. According to the report, a 50-year-old-man has been coming into a restaurant and puts bullets on the table as he eats. The informant had reason to believe he had more ammunition on him. Police responded and spoke to the subject. 

October the 27th

At 3:15 p.m. a 9mm Luger hang gun was found with an extra clip on 17th Street. The informant was concerned because they did not know how to handle a gun or put the safety on. Police took the gun to the property room for safe keeping.

October the 28th

At 3:13 a.m. a caller reported a battery assault near Westminster Avenue. A woman had experienced injuries by a man who hiding in the area. Police were unable to locate the suspect.
