Sewage Spill Closes Northern Part of City Beach

Beachgoers should avoid swimming, surfing or diving in Seal Beach waters from the mouth of San Gabriel River to 500 feet downcoast, according to county health officials.

Watch where you swim, Seal Beach snorklers. 

Due to a sewage spill, Orange County Health officials closed city waters to swimming, surfing and diving Tuesday from the mouth of the San Gabriel River to 500 feet downcoast.

Ocean sports will be prohibited until further notice, according to the Water Protection Program of the Orange County Health Agency.

The agency posts warning signs when ocean and bay water bacterial levels exceed health standards.
