Search on for Suspect in Armed Robbery of Ralphs Grocery Store

Seal Beach Police are looking for the man who robbed the store Saturday with a semi-automatic gun.

A robber with a semi-automatic handgun held up the Ralphs Grocery Store on Seal Beach Boulevard Saturday night.

Police are looking for the public’s help in catching the robber, who got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. According to the Seal Beach Police Department, a store employee called 9-1-1 from a cell phone while the robbery was still in progress at about 10:25 p.m. Saturday night.

Police arrived within two minutes, but the robber had escaped. Authorities continued to search for the man, using a helicopter and police dogs around the shopping center and the nearby Old Ranch County Club.

The suspect is described as being white or Hispanic, in his early 20s, 5’3 with a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a dark hoodie jacket and dark jeans. His weapon was a black semi-automatic handgun. No one was injured in the robbery, and police have not yet released surveillance video from the store.
