Seal Beach Man Admits to Stabbing His Father

Dalton Gilbert Aguirre faces prison for stabbing his father in the head following an argument about a house party that ended with broken furniture.

A Seal Beach man, who stabbed his father in the head and torso, faces five years in state prison for attempted murder.

Dalton Gilbert Aguirre, 23, has pleaded guilty to the 2010 stabbing in a plea deal this month. He will officially be sentence April 5th.

“The defendant lived with his father in Seal Beach, and on the night of the attempted murder the defendant and his father got into an argument,” said Farrah Emami, spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. “The defendant had had a party at the house and a coffee table was broken.”

The two argued about the damage. Aguirre apparently left the house after the argument but returned and attacked his father with a knife, Emami said. Aguirre’s father, who has recovered from the attack, is in favor of the plea deal, she added.
