Seal Beach Bike Shop Burglarized

Police seek witnesses after several rides were reported stolen from longtime Seal Beach riding mainstay.

Someone stole several bikes from a Seal Beach cyclery just days before Christmas.

Kings Bicycle Store at 1190 Pacific Coast Highway lost a number of rides Dec. 21, according to report to the Seal Beach Police Department.

At 9:56 a.m. Dec. 22, officers received a report that someone pried open the backdoor of the business overnight and made off with several bikes.

The business has been in existence since 1925, according to its website.

SBPD Cpl. Mary Martinez said the department doesn't have any suspects, so any eyewitness testimony or security camera footage from neary businesses would be "absolutely beneficial" to their investigation.

Martinez said the store didn't have any cameras, and until there's more evidence "the case is pretty much a cold case."

According to Martinez, anyone with information on the crime should call the police watch commander at 562-799-4100, extension 1115.

What awful news. I know Main Street Cyclery was hit last year and they took the register and cash the week before Christmas. I sure hope the perpetrators of the theft are caught and punished.
