Rifle-Toting Man Threatens Milk Truck Driver to 'Protect' Neighborhood

Last week in Los Alamitos, a milk delivery driver was threatened by a man with a rifle, who charged and hit the truck, telling the driver that he was “protecting his neighborhood.”

The suspect, a 50-year-old male, was arrested on suspicion of brandishing an imitation firearm and stating criminal threats.

  • 7/17/11 – 8:41 AM – 10400 El Dorado Way – While investigating the earlier crime at 8:01 AM, another victim was located whose vehicle allegedly had the door lock forced open and property was removed sometime during the prior two days.
  • 7/23/11 – 4:15 PM – 4600 Lampson – A report of a vehicle window that was allegedly smashed and a loss of property sometime in the prior three hours.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

  •  7/19/11 – 4:49 PM – 3600 Farquhar – A report of a person inside the victim’s garage trying to steal a bicycle.  The suspect was frightened away by the victim and there was no loss.
  • 7/21/11 – 6:08 AM – 3600 Kempton – A report of a person cutting the screen of an open window and entering the residence the prior evening.  The resident frightened away the suspect, and there was no loss.
  • 7/21/11 – 5:27 PM – 4400 Howard – A report of damage consistent with a person attempting to pry open the rear sliding door of a residence sometime during the day.

THEFT

  • 7/17/11 – 3:52 PM – 3500 Cerritos – A report of the victim’s mobile device being lost or stolen two days prior.
  • 7/17/11 – 6:17 PM – 11300 Rochelle – A report of two bicycles being taken from the front yard sometime during the prior two days.
  • 7/22/11 – 10:43 AM – 3700 Holden – A report of someone stealing the victim’s outgoing mail from the residence’s mail slot.  Information from the stolen mail was used to cash a fraudulent check out of state.
  • 7/22/11 – 5:46 PM – 3800 Howard – A report of a catalytic converter being removed from a parked vehicle sometime overnight.
  • 7/22/11 – 7:17 PM – 4400 Howard – A report of a catalytic converter being removed from a parked vehicle sometime during the prior few days.

IDENTITY THEFT/CREDIT CARD/CHECK FRAUD

  • 7/21/11 – 11:18 AM – 10800 Noel – A report of an unauthorized person using a company credit card.

  • 7/17/11 – 9:04 AM – 10800 Walnut – A report of a damaged vehicle door lock with no entry or loss sometime during the prior week.
  • 7/18/11 – 1:53 AM – 11100 Los Alamitos Blvd. – Pedestrian check.  Juvenile arrested on suspicion of breaking curfew.
  • 7/20/11 – 1:52 PM – Bloomfield and Cerritos Ave. – Pedestrian check. Male, 22 years, of Cypress, arrested for a warrant for an arrest.
  • 7/22/11 – 1:59 PM – 10700 Los Alamitos Blvd. – A report of a non-injury traffic collision where one of the involved parties left without exchanging information.
  • 7/22/11 – 7:23 PM – Katella and the I605 – A report of a person seen tagging a freeway sign.
  • 7/22/11 – 7:55 PM – Noel St. and Howard – Pedestrian check of a person resembling the described suspect seen tagging a freeway sign today at 7:23 PM.  Male, 18 years, of Lake Elsinore, arrested on suspicion of vandalism and possession of tools used for vandalism.
