Alleged Burglar Arrested After Resident Chases Him Out of House

Blake Neidhart was arrested Tuesday after allegedly getting caught breaking into a home in Old Town Seal Beach.

An intruder was arrested Tuesday after a Seal Beach resident caught him inside his home, a police official reported.  

The burglary took place just after 12:30 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of 10th Street. According to police Sgt. Ron La Velle, the resident was in another part of his home when he saw an intruder in his bedroom.

"The resident confronted the intruder, and the intruder fled on foot," La Velle said in a released statement. "The resident gave chase, while updating responding the police communications center via his cellular phone." 

Police set up a perimeter and arrested Blake Neidhart 30, of Seal Beach, within a few minutes, La Velle said.

Neidhart was booked into the Seal Beach Police Station on a residential burglary charge. He was later transported to the Orange County Jail, where he was held on a probation violation warrant.
