Rash of Residential Burglaries in Greenbrook Prompts Town Hall Meeting

Los Alamitos police advise residents to be alert.

Four daytime residential burglaries in the Greenbrook neighborhood have prompted Los Alamitos police to hold a Town Hall meeting on Friday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the Los Alamitos City Council Chambers, 3191 Katella Ave.

Three of the break-ins, all of which happened between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., occurred on Monday, Jan. 13. The other one took place on Friday, Jan. 3, according to police.

In all four instances, the burglar entered the homes from the rear yards, in one instance entering through a partially ajar window after cutting the screen. In the other three cases, the rear sliding glass doors were shattered, said police.

In all four burglaries, the homes were ransacked and property was taken.

Though the Town Hall will focus on the city’s northern neighborhoods, which include Greenbrook, Woodcrest, and College Park North, the public is invited.

The Greenbrook neighborhood is located northwest of the intersection of Cerritos Avenue and Bloomfield Street. 

Anyone who can identify possible suspects or provide information about suspicious activity in the area or any of these crimes is asked to contact the Los Alamitos Police Department's Detective Kendra Gora at (562) 431-2255, ext. 406.

Anonymous tips may be directly submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 
www.occrimestoppers.org or 1-855-TIP-OCCS. Orange County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for tips that lead to an arrest.

The Los Alamitos Police Department is advising residents to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to police immediately., according to a press release. “If You See Something, Say Something.”
