Public's Help Sought in Identifying Jane Doe

The Orange County Sheriff's Department Coroner Division is asking for the community's help in identifying a woman who was killed in September 2005 while walking across the street, officials announced in a news release Wednesday.

The woman, who is possibly of mixed race, according to the coroner's office, was hit by a car on Sept. 11, 2005 at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Orangewood Avenue in Stanton. The victim was between 19-30 years-old at the time of her death.

"The anniversary of her death was last month," Gail Krause, OCSD spokeswoman, said. "We will likely send [information] on unidentified persons annually for the public's help."

The woman was described as being 5 feet 3 inches, 165 pounds with long, wavy brown/black hair and brown eyes, according to the coroner's office. She was wearing a striped shirt, blue denim shorts and jeweled flip-flop sandals, as well as silver bangle-type bracelet.

The victim had a day bus pass (route 38) from the Lakewood area in her purse and receipts from the Buena Park Mall, all dated Sept. 11, 2005. She also had a Reggaeton 2005 music CD.

Anyone with information about the woman's identity or her family, is urged to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Coroner Division at 714-647-7411, and reference case number 05-06717-HO.
