A cab driver accused of raping a woman in Leisure World is scheduled to appear in court today for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to move forward with a trial.
Orlando Bruce Bosley, 58, is accused of knocking out a 45-year-old woman, dragging her inside her mother's Leisure World home and raping her as she drifted in and out of consciousness.
Bosley is charged with rape by menace, rape by the use of drugs and rape of an unconscious person and could face up to eight years in prison if convicted. Bosley remains free on $100,000 bail.
Bosley, picked up a 46-year-old woman in his taxi on July 6 in 2010 in Sunset Beach to take her to her mother’s home in Leisure World, Seal Beach, according to the Seal Beach Police Department. Police allege that Bosley punched the woman in the face as she was looking into her purse for cab fare and then dragged her into the house and raped her.
Bosley has pleaded not guilty and has denied ever setting foot in the Leisure World home. According to Bosley, he simply dropped off the alleged victim. However, the Seal Beach Police Department has said that Bosley’s DNA was found inside the Leisure World home, where the attack allegedly occurred.
Investigators are asking the public's help identifying potential victims who may not have come forward after an assault.
