Police Chase Suspect in Los Alamitos

A brief foot chase down Howard Avenue ended in an arrest of a 25-year-old Los Alamitos man.

Police converged on Howard Avenue in Los Alamitos Wednesday afternoon during a brief search for a man who threw an object at a passing car and then attempted to outrun police.

In the end, police cited a 25-year-old Los Alamitos man for throwing an object at a moving vehicle and obstructing or delaying a police officer in the course of his duties, said Los Alamitos Police Department Sgt. Sean Connolly.

According to Connolly, a driver reported the incident at 1:14 p.m. on the 4500 block of Howard Avenue. The suspect had allegedly thrown something at the car, damaging its bumper. When police arrived, the suspect ran into a nearby backyard and through the backdoor into the house, said Connolly.
