Seal Beach Police Department Detectives today arrested a caregiver accused of bilking a Leisure World man of nearly $287,000.
Marisa Robles, 31, was arrested on an outstanding warrant related to the theft of over $287,000 from an elderly victim.
Robles, a Norwalk resident, is suspected of forgery, grand theft and elder abuse among the list of over 90 criminal counts. She worked for the 81 year-old victim in Leisure World as his caregiver since 2007.
According to police, she began writing checks to herself totaling $287,848 from the victim’s personal bank accounts without his consent shortly after she began working for him.
