Hundreds stopped by the Seal Beach Pier Tuesday to meet local law enforcement and see how they do what they do.

Hundreds attended the city's National Night Out at the Seal Beach Pier Tuesday.

Sponsored by the Seal Beach Police Department, the event was aimed at lowering crime rates, raising awareness of local anti-crime efforts and helping people get to know their local law enforcement officers.

From 6 to 9 p.m. at Eisenhower Park, members of the SBPD, Seal Beach Marine Safety Department, Orange County Fire Authority, California Highway Patrol and the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station were on hand to teach residents about what they do and how they do it.
