Update: 405 Sigalert Cleared

Three lanes were closed for more than two hours.

The world expected traffic headaches with this weekend’s heavily touted closure of the San Diego (405) Freeway, and they got it. Only, it wasn’t the closure at the Sepulveda Pass that caused it. Rather, the Sigalert on the northbound 405 at Seal Beach Boulevard was to blame.

The sigalert lasted for two and a half hours, and the freeway was cleared by 1:45 p.m. A collision between a motorcycle and a car caused three lanes to be closed down starting just after 11 a.m. Two people were injured in the collision.
