Massacre Defendant Sued by Insurers

Scott Dekraai, charged with killing eight people at a Seal Beach salon in 2011, now faces lawsuits from two of his insurance providers, the OC Register reports.

Two companies that had insured mass-killings defendant Scott Dekraai have gone to court to avoid any obligation to defend or indemnify Dekraai over the 2011 shootings at a Seal Beach beauty salon, according to a report in the Orange County Register.

Safeco Insurance Company of America and Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club, which Dekraai had property insurance policies with, have sued to get the protection.

Several family members of some of the slaying victims have filed wrongful-death suits, and a witness is also seeking damages.

"We don't think we owe it," said the Exchange's attorney Phillip Smith. The companies contend that the policies do not cover any liability in those civil suits, in part because intentional acts by the insured are excluded.

I think the insurers have a leg to stand on, though I don't think Dekraai does.

This man has a rare quality, courage. Unlike the fool in office and his minions. If you thinkRead More the Constitution is a joke, you see him as bad. If you want to be spied on by your own government, Snowden is bad. Courage is missing in the states. The military have it but not the majority of our mediocre citizens.
