Man Wielding Butcher Knife Robs Los Alamitos Bank

Suspect walks into US Bank with a big blade, walks out with a wad of cash.

Police are looking for a man who held up a Los Alamitos bank Tuesday armed with a butcher’s knife.

Just after 9:30 a.m., the silent alarm at the US Bank on Pine Street was activated. By the time police arrived, the suspect had fled on foot with an unspecified amount of cash. Officers from Los Alamitos, Seal Beach and Cypress conducted a search of the area, but the suspect had already disappeared.

According to bank employees, the man walked into the bank, displayed a butcher’s knife and forced employees to hand over money. No one was injured in the robbery.
