Man Pleads Not Guilty to Starting Gate Stabbing

Police say Eddie Dean McIntyre stabbed a man at the Starting Gate in Los Alamitos after an argument broke out inside the nightclub.

A man accused of stabbing another man at a nightclub in Los Alamitos last month has pleaded not guilty, court records show.

Eddie Dean McIntyre, 39, of Long Beach, is facing two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon or force likely to produce great bodily injury, according to court records. McIntyre is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 2 for a pre-trial hearing.

The charges against McIntyre stem from a stabbing outside of the Starting Gate nightclub on Aug. 28. According to Los Alamitos police, McIntyre got into an argument with two brothers just before midnight. One of the brothers was allegedly stabbed by McIntyre inside the nightclub, and the other brother was almost slashed when he went outside to confront McIntyre.

After the stabbing, police said McIntyre fled the nightclub in a grey SAAB sedan.
Police located him a short time later.

McIntyre was released on $100,000 bail on Sept. 4.
