Naked Man on Jetty, $20K Ring Stolen, and a Threat to Blow Up Home

Seal Beach Police had their hands full with serious threats and thefts, weirdos and mischief-makers this week.

  • 7/18/11 — 7:17 a.m. — Seal Beach Boulevard — A report of grand theft.
  • 7/18/11 — 9:17 a.m. —1st Street — A report of a stolen green men’s beach cruiser valued at $400.
  • 7/18/11 — 4:23 p.m. — North Gate Road — A report of an employee that threatened another employee.
  • 7/18/11 — 7:38 p.m. — Lampson and Seal Beach Boulevard — A report of a DUI; driver was reported as a male that wove from lane to lane and stopped in the middle of the street.
  • 7/19/11 — 8:22 a.m. —1st Street — A reported burglary of four rings, including an engagement ring worth $20,000.
  • 7/20/11 — 2:40 p.m. — Scioto Road — A report of a dead body found.
  • 7/20/11 — 4:47 p.m. — Bolsa Avenue — A report of teenagers trying to break playground equipment.
  • 7/21/11 — 3:37 p.m. — 900 Ocean Ave. — A report of drunk driver; suspect was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
  • 7/22/11 — 11:46 a.m. — Bolsa Avenue — A report of a suspicious person who left a note on the caller’s door about the mafia.
  • 7/23/11 — 9:21 a.m. — Neptune Avenue — A report of indecent exposure, where a man got naked on the jetty between the inner harbor and outer harbor.
  • 7/23/11 — 12:15 p.m. — Catalina Avenue — A report of criminal threats to blow up the reporter’s house and kill his family. The reporter said he did not know who the caller was, but had his name and address.
