Man Finds Clothing in Home's Entrance, Gold and Silver Jewelry Missing

Also in local crime calls, a short chubby man allegedly stole a tip jar from a local business.

Editor's Note: The following crime calls were made to the Seal Beach Police Department and listed on the SBPD dispatch log. 

PETTY THEFT

  • 05/02/2013 — 9:42 p.m. — Seal Beach Boulevard — A short chubby man allegedly stole a tip jar from a local business and then got into a black Toyota Rav4 and left the area. The loss was about $15.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

  • 05/02/2013 — 11:00 p.m. — Coastline Drive — A man came home and find the blinds open, a closet open and clothing in the entry way. The interior garage door was also open, as well as the door to the pool area. The caller doesn’t recognize some of the items at the location and said gold and silver jewelry were missing.

FOUND CHILD

  • 05/03/2013 — 11:27 a.m. — 14th and Landing —A 5-year-old was found in an alley between 14th and 15th. The boy was described as blond and wearing a red shirt with words on it. The child took off running toward Electric. The caller walked the child back to the alley, and the child was eventually reunited with his father. 

PETTY THEFT REPORT

  • 05/03/2013 — 11:54 a.m. — St. John Road — A woman left a diamond watch on a counter in the bathroom of the residence, and it went missing. She said a repairman possibly took the watch. In an update a day later, the woman reported she had found her watch and no theft occurred.

COUNSELING

  • 05/03/2013 — 1:15 p.m. — St. John Road. — A caller invested money into a restaurant business venture with a business partner. Now, the caller alleges, the partner owes the caller money for the profits, but the partner just keeps telling the caller the check is in the mail.
