Man Arrested on Suspicion of Kidnapping

The suspect allegedly grabbed a woman on a trail and tried to drag her away, deputies say.

A 29-year-old man was in custody Tuesday on suspicion of the attempted kidnapping of a woman on the Serrano Trail in Lake Forest Monday morning.

A woman told deputies the man, Edgar Enrique Lumbi, believed to be a transient, had been hiding in the bushes when he jumped out and grabbed her by the arm at around 10 a.m., said Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino.

Lumbi allegedly dragged the woman several feet before she was able to break free. He then grabbed her again, and she was able to again break free, Amormino said.

Another walker saw the incident, and he gave Lumbi chase but lost track of Lumbi near the creek bed there, Amormino said.

Deputies arrested Lumbi at 10 p.m. Monday. Having known him from prior contact with police, deputies caught up to him near the intersection of Los Alisos and Jeronimo in Mission Viejo, Amormino said.

Lumbi's bail is set at $100,000 and his next appearance in court is set for Wednesday, according to jail records.

"where do I state I am promoting illegals in the work force?" This is what you said in your previous comment, Gina: "so cal would come to a dead halt if all the illegal Hispanics were removed from the work force." So obviously you believe it would be a bad thing to remove illegal workers from the So. Cal. workforce. But I think it would be a GREAT THING, because it would open up new opportunities for millions of citizens who are currently collecting unemployment since they cannot find work. The workforce would bounce back and the illegal scofflaws would be punished. That's how our system was DESIGNED to work. You appear to be promoting selective anarchy where the unlawful are rewarded and the law-abiding are punished. Maybe you should move to North Korea. "Thanks for the trip down your memory lane, doesn't change the fact that white kids TODAY are too lazy, their parent's too greedy to save a buck and promote a false sense of entitlement in their children." That's total BS. The opportunities for kids have just been significantly reduced with the influx of illegals into our society who are doing jobs that the kids used to do. But you explanation would be expected since you seem to cheerlead illegal lawbreakers instead of your own fellow citizens. Does La Raza accept membership apps from gringos? Based on your sentiments you should apply.

And one thought for you....move to North Korea. Over there the government promotes policy that hurts their own citizens. Since you applaud that over here, you would absolutely love it over there. Have a nice flight. And good luck! heh.

There was a time in this country when The Dumb and the Willfully Ignorant worked on assembly lines and wanted nothing more when they got off work other than "Miller Time," a woman with a retarded sense of morality, and a double=wide they could call "home." Then can downsizing, outsourcing, Bush the Second's devaluation of the dollar, and the economic collapse of 2008. Now The Dumb and the Willfully Ignorant are unemployable so they spend their days comment on the Patch. Even when the article deals with topics they know nothing of; they live to spew their ignorance and hatred. They don't use their real names because they claim speaking your mind can be dangerous. Tell that to Martin Luther King, Jr. Malcolm X, Nathan Hale, Thomas Paine... They are cowards and like all cowards they bully if you point out their complete lack of logic. They ruin online communication and any chance we may have had to learn from each other. They will continue to do so until we stand up and shout them down.
