Man Arrested in Hit-And-Run of Motorcyclist

Police say Nathan Teixeira, 31, of Bakersfield crashed his truck into a motorcyclist in Seal Beach and ran away into a local neighborhood.

A man was arrested in Seal Beach early Thursday after allegedly hitting a motorcycle with his truck, and fleeing the scene of the crash, police reported.

Just before 12:30 a.m., a motorcyclist was hit by a truck at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Anderson Street when the driver failed to yield to the motorcycle while he was trying to enter a private driveway. Seal Beach police Sgt. Ron La Velle said the motorcyclist was "gravely injured" and the driver of the truck fled on foot.

Seal Beach and Huntington Beach police officers searched the area for the driver. Nathan Teixeira, 31 of Bakersfield was later taken into custody and booked at the Seal Beach Detention Center for hit and run driving and driving under the influence, causing injury, La Velle said.
