Update: Freeway Connectors Reopen After Fatal Crash Investigation
The CHP closed several Seal Beach-area ramps Friday to investigate Thursday's deadly motorcycle wreck.
UPDATE AS OF 12:30 P.M. Friday: The connectors are now open.
Posted at 9 a.m. The Seal Beach Police Department released the following alert asking commuters to avoid the Seal Beach area freeway connectors until after 11 a.m. today as the CHP investigates a fatal motorcycle wreck in the area:
CHP has closed the below freeway connectors around the Seal Beach area and will reopen them within 2 hours. CHP is investigating yesterday's motorcycle fatality. Traffic is backing up NOW on the 405.
1. NB 405 to WB 22
2. Old Ranch Parkway to WB 22 on-ramp
3. SB 605 to WB 22
4. SB 405 to WB 22

On Thursday, a motorcyclist was killed at the westbound Garden Grove (22) Freeway near the 7th Street offramp in Seal Beach. It was a solo vehicle crash that killed the biker, according to the CHP. The accident triggered a 4-hour sigalert from about noon to nearly 4 p.m.
Investigators have not released any information about the victim pending the notification of the victim’s family.
