Knife-Wielding Bus Passenger Makes Threats

This week, the Seal Beach Police dealt with a number of problems including theft, violent threats and underage drinkers.

8/8/11—3:38 p.m. — Del Monte Drive — A report of real estate fraud using the callers’ name for the past 6-7 years.

8/9/11 — 3:34 p.m. — 11th Street — A report of a man trash digging in the alley; the subject was arrested on suspicion of trash digging.

8/9/11 —7:21 p.m. — 902 Ocean Avenue/10th Street Beach Lot — A report of a drunk juvenile who attempted to evade officers by running away. Ultimately, the foot pursuit ended when the person fell while trying to climb a wall and was taken by paramedics to a hospital because of his level of intoxication. Police officials said they would petition the county to file charges of public intoxication and evading an officer.

8/9/11—8:19 p.m.— Seal Beach Boulevard — A report of a man who pulled out a knife on another man while on a bus; the man was ultimately detained by the police.

8/10/11—10:47 a.m.— Pacific Coast Highway — A report of petty theft where $100 worth of merchandise was stolen. A copy of the store’s surveillance video will be used to help find the suspect.

8/10/11—2:00 p.m. — College Park Drive — A report of 20-30 teenagers drinking six cases of beer.

8/11/11—11:24 a.m.— East Walton (Long Beach) — John Wesley Martynec was arrested on suspicion of having an outstanding warrant.

8/11/11—1:42 p.m.— Seal Beach Boulevard — A report of a petty theft where $80 in cash was stolen.  A hole was drilled in the rainwater machine at Ralphs, which police say is an on-going problem in Orange County.

8/11/11—9:43 p.m. — 6th Street — A report of a missing 18 year-old woman who has been missing since Sunday. Person is described as 5’7, 125 lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes. Caller said the woman was staying with her boyfriend’s family in Cypress, but the couple was kicked out and is unknown where they have gone.

8/12/11—7:34 p.m.— Seal Way — A report of a surfboard valued at $650 stolen from the caller’s garage.

8/13/11—7:49 p.m.—13531 Saint Andrews Drive—A report of a man who appeared dazed and under the influence. The man was ultimately arrested on suspicion of intoxication.
