Police Blotter: Juvenile Fun

What do youths do for fun these days? According to Seal Beach police reports, some hit golf balls into buildings, play chicken with cars and roll boulders into the river.

GRAND THEFT

07/09/12 -- 7:22 a.m. -- Alfonzo Lopez Drive -- Property, possibly in excess of $10,000, was taken.  

DRUNK

07/09/2012 -- 9:38 a.m. -- Main Street and Ocean -- Drunken female was riding a bicycle while while holding a beer.

07/09/2012 -- 8:41 p.m. -- Montecito Road -- Rossmoor residents were evacuated from their apartment building as firetrucks arrived to put out the apartment fire. Reports said one resident, who was advised it was still too dangerous to return to his apartment, became combative and swung at the officer.  The resident was detained and arrested.  A report said another resident refused to leave his home with the volunteer and slammed his door in the fireman’s face.

PETTY THEFT

07/10/2012 -- 11:10 a.m. -- 4th Street -- An American flag was stolen from the front porch of a residence.

DISTURBANCE-JUVENILES

07/10/2012 -- 4:12 p.m. -- Three juvenile males began hitting golf balls at a building after being asked by an employee to leave.  

VEHICLE BURGLARY

07/10/2012 -- 9:18 p.m. -- Seal Beach Boulevard -- A vehicle's window was smashed, and a purse, cell phone and other items were stolen.  

DRUNK DISTURBANCE 

07/11/2012 -- 12:03 a.m. -- Main Street -- A patron was escorted out of the bar after a brawl with another subject and disturbing the bartenders, according to the report. 

BURGLARY 

07/11/2012 -- 7:36 a.m. -- Seal Beach Boulevard -- A business undergoing construction was robbed of a chop saw, drill, ladder and shovel overnight.  

DISTURBANCE-FAMILY

07/11/2012 -- 3:15 p.m. -- Coastline Drive -- A woman phoned the police after a disturbance in which she said someone put her in a head lock, threw rocks at her and threatened to kill her.

DISTURBANCE-JUVENILE

7/11/2012 -- 5:03 p.m. -- Marina and San Gabriel River -- Three male juveniles were rolling boulders into the river from the bike path.

DRUNK DISTURBANCE

7/12/2012 -- 1:18 a.m. -- Main Street -- A resident reported an ongoing problem of drunks from Main Street wandering onto her residence to loitering and urinate on her staircase. 

PETTY THEFT

7/12/2012 -- 12:37 p.m. -- 14th Street -- Two beach cruisers locked to a staircase were stolen.  The locks were gone as well.

DISTURBANCE

7/13/2012 -- 6:18 p.m. -- 1st Street -- A woman phoned police, saying she was refused service at a location and harassed by a man after her husband washed his feet in the public restroom over the floor drain.

DRUNK DISTURBANCE

7/14/2012 -- 9:05 p.m. -- Seal Beach Boulevard -- A person on the bus bench wearing a blue cowboy hat, red shirt and red cut-off shorts was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.  

FOUND PROPERTY 

7/15/2012 -- 1:11 p.m. -- Coastline Drive -- Legal papers were found blowing around the street and were returned to a female who said she was the one who threw them out when someone tried to serve her. 

DISTURBANCE-JUVENILES

7/15/2012 -- 8:09 p.m. -- Rossmoor Center/ Seal Beach -- Juveniles were playing chicken on their bikes with oncoming vehicles.
