Hit and Run Driver Knocks Light Pole onto 605 Freeway
A driver temporarily snarled traffic on the San Gabriel Freeway after crashing into a light pole and toppling it onto the road way.
The soutbound lanes of the San Gabriel (605) Freeway at Katella Avenue in Los Alamitos are now clear after a driver crashed into a light pole, knocking it onto the onramp and right-hand lane before driving away.
The hit and run caused traffic along the 605 to slow for more than an hour starting at 10:02 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. By 11:35 p.m., the light pole was removed from the roadway, and traffic began to clear. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call the California Highway Patrol at 949-559-7888.
