A driver smashed head-on into a telephone pole in Seal Beach Wednesday evening but sustained only minor injuries, authorities said.
Police responded to a call at 5:48 p.m. about the solo vehicle collision on Lampson near Heather Street.
The collision crunched the front end of the sedan against the utility pole, knocking it askew. A nearby electrical pole was also affected by the collision, police said.
Police have blocked off a lane near the crash as crews work on the damaged utility poles; it is unclear when it will reopen.
The driver was not transported to the hospital, according to police.
Police said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
