Man Accused of Secretly Recording Nude Neighbors Is Charged with Posessing Child Porn

Officials want the public's help in finding potential additional victims of Kyle Charles Scott, 21, who was accused of secretly taping his nude neighbors and possession child porn.

A 21-year-old Cypress man accused of surreptitiously videotaping his neighbors, sometimes while they were nude, was charged today with peeping, possession of child pornography and drug charges.

Kyle Charles Scott faces one count each of possession of child porn, distributing obscene matter to adults and possession of marijuana for sale, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance — all felonies — along with one misdemeanor count each of peeping and disorderly conduct, said Farrah Emami of the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Scott pleaded not guilty to the charges this afternoon at the West Justice Center, and had his bail kept at $100,000, prosecutors said. He is due back at the Westminster courthouse on Nov. 2.

Scott was allegedly walking on the roof of a 19-year-old woman's home in the 9800 block of Newcastle Lane about 1 a.m. Saturday when her parents heard noise and emerged from the house to investigate, prompting the suspect to flee across the street and hide under a car, according to authorities.

When the teen's father saw the suspect, he ran away but was caught by police while running through the neighborhood.

Investigators found child porn on a computer in Scott's home that included lewd video and photos of neighborhood women and girls, some in the nude, prosecutors allege.

Scott is also accused of being in possession of more than two pounds of
marijuana and an ounce and a half of cocaine and two psilocybin mushrooms.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials ask for the public's help indentifying potential additional victims, according to a release from the district attorney.

Anyone with additional information or who may have been a victim can contact Supervising District Attorney Investigator Lou Gutierrez at (714) 347-8794 or CPD at (714) 229-6624.
