Crime: Bong-Using Driver Swerves Across Lanes

Here are five odd, interesting or important crime calls listed by the Seal Beach Police Department recently.

HAZARD

  • 10/02/2012 — 12:11 a.m. — 6th Street and Marina Drive — A sink hole developed near a storm drain. The Orange County Fire Authority asked the Seal Beach Police Department to assist. The hole was on private property, and the party responsible for the property put cones around the hole.

GRAND THEFT REPORT

  • 10/02/2012 — 1:05 p.m. — Old Ranch Road — Within the last hour, an unknown person stole a man's gardening equipment from the man's trailer. 

HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE VIOLATION IN VEHICLE

  • 10/02/2012 — 4:54 p.m. — Lampson Avenue and Seal Beach Boulevard — The driver of a green Chevy was smoking from a bong and driving erratically. The man was 25-30 years old and wearing a hat and sunglasses and swerving across lanes.

TRANSIENT

  • 10/02/2012 — 5:54 p.m. — Pacific Coast Highway and San Gabriel River — Transients were camping out under the nearby bridge and were allegedly disturbing passersby.

  • 10/02/2012 — 7:10 p.m. — Lampson Avenue and Seal Beach Boulevard — A large tree was blocking the No. 3 lane of northbound Seal Beach Boulevard.
