Crime Blotter: Inappropriate Texts to a Child, Harassing Calls and a Break-in

STOLEN VEHICLE

• 6/9/11 – 4:00 PM – Walnut and Sausalito – A report of a vehicle being taken without authorization sometime overnight or during the day. The vehicle was found undamaged, parked nearby.

AUTO BURGLARY

• 6/6/11 – 7:49 PM – 10600 Walnut – A report of a vehicle’s driver door lock being punched and the 3row seats being taken out of a sports utility vehicle sometime during the past three days.

• 6/7/11 – 4:44 PM – 4100 Katella – A report of a vehicle window smashed and a purse taken from the front seat within the past few minutes.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY/SHOPLIFT

• 6/8/11 – 10:21 AM – 3400 Katella – A report of a person passing fraudulent prescriptions yesterday.  A 25 year-old man from Cypress was arrested on suspicion of theft, possession of drugs without a prescription, forgery, and burglary.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

• 6/6/11 – 6:44 PM – 4000 Howard – A report of a bicycle stolen from an unlocked garage sometime overnight.

• 6/10/11 – 3:55 PM – 10300 Lassen – A report of an unauthorized person entering a residence through an unsecured window sometime during the day and removing property.

ASSAULT

• 6/5/11 – 1:41 AM – 3600 Farquhar – A report of a disturbance occurring in front of the residence. A 29 year-old woman from Los Alamitos was arrested on suspicion of inflicting injury upon a cohabitant.

• 6/7/11 – 5:15 PM – 3500 Cerritos – A report of a fight between two juveniles known to each other.

THEFT

• 6/7/11 – 8:30 AM – Catalina and Kaylor – A report of a suspicious person entering an employee’s vehicle.  A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of petty theft.

• 6/9/11 – 11:59 AM – 4100 Cerritos – A report of property taken from an unlocked vehicle in the past hour.

• 6/9/11 – 3:00 PM – 10800 Portal – A report of a license plate being taken from a parked vehicle sometime in the past week.
• 6/10/11 – 10:06 AM – 10800 Bloomfield – A report of a person taking a gas can from a tow truck.
• 6/11/11 – 12:46 PM – 3900 Farquhar – A report of two bicycles being taken from the front porch of their residence sometime overnight.

 IDENTITY THEFT/CREDIT CARD/CHECK FRAUD

• 6/7/11 – 7:48 PM – 10900 Los Alamitos Blvd – A report of a fraudulent use of a credit card at a business last month.

• 6/10/11 – 2:39 PM – 3200 Katella – A report of an unauthorized person making a charge against the victim’s checking account.

MISCELLANEOUS

• 6/5/11 – 9:36 PM – 12000 Reagan – A report of a minor receiving inappropriate text/picture messages.

• 6/6/11 – 8:32 AM – 3600 Howard – A report of initials and a heart scratched into the paint of a parked vehicle overnight.
• 6/6/11 – 11:39 AM – 3600 Howard – A report of harassing calls being received by the resident.
• 6/7/11 – 1:18 PM – 4300 Farquhar – A report of harassing calls being received by the resident from a known suspect.  A 47 years-year-old woman from Hermosa Beach was arrested for unrelated warrants.
