Community Urged to Prepare for a Disaster

In recognition of National Preparedness Month, the Seal Beach Police Volunteers in Policing are selling emergency preparedness kits.

If a disaster were to strike, Seal Beach police want to make sure residents are prepared to take care of themselves.

In recognition of National Preparedness Month, the Seal Beach Police Volunteers in Policing are currently selling emergency preparedness kits ranging from $25-$90. The emergency kits include water, dried foods, solar blankets, dust masks and a light stick. Some kits also include waterproof matches, rope, tarps and others are specifically for pets.

The profits from the emergency preparedness kits will benefit the Seal Beach Police Volunteers in Policing program. Anyone interested in buying a kit should visit the Seal Beach Public Safety Building at the pier, 820 Ocean Ave., or by calling program coordinator Sylvia Klebe at 562-260-8919.
