Three people were injured when their boat capsized on a Seal Beach jetty last week, according to the city’s marine safety department.
People on a 27-foot power boat were fishing off the West Anaheim Jetty at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 10 when the engine failed to restart, according to a written statement from Nick Bolin, marine safety officer.
Without power, the boat was unable to stop itself from landing on the jetty's rocks and flipping over.
Lifeguards treated three people on board for minor injuries including “minor scrapes,” Bolin said to Patch.
The Seal Beach Police Department was able to give the three people a ride back to their car.
Lifeguards swam a line to the disabled boat and helped a salvage company remove the boat from the rocks and right it.
