Dead Body with Head Trauma, Sister Allegedly Beats Up Brother, Boyfriend

Here are some of the latest crime reports for Aug. 13 to Aug. 19 as listed by the Seal Beach Police Department.

KEEP THE PEACE

  • 08/13/2012 —11:50 a.m. — 5th Street — A woman asked for someone to help her force her 19-year-old son to leave the home while she goes to work. She’s concerned about items going missing from her residence and does not want her son home alone.

ASSIST OUTSIDE AGENCY

  • 08/13/2012 — 12:20 p.m. — Westminster Avenue and Apollo Court — An elderly man fell into a ditch. The caller cannot get the man out, and the man does not appear injured. The fire department helped remove the man from the ditch.

  • 08/14/2012 — 2:09 p.m. — Seal Beach Boulevard — A caller said that fraudulent charges had been made on the caller’s account. So far about $10,200 had been withdrawn from an atm.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

  • 08/14/2012 — 9:34 p.m. — North Gate Road — A man wearing a camouflage vest, riding a bike, and carrying a golf club came to the front doors of a nearby building and tried to open them. He said he wanted a coke. The subject then took off northbound on Seal Beach Boulevard.

  • 08/15/2012 — 5:35 p.m. — Pacific Coast Highway — Someone stole a red three-wheeled bicycle, valued at about $600. The caller said he went into a store and came out one minute later and his bike was gone.

DISTURBANCE — FAMILY

  • 08/15/2012 — 9:02 p.m. — 1st Street — A caller’s ex-girlfriend broke into his residence and started throwing things around.

OBSCENE TELEPHONE CALL

  • 08/16/2012 —1:52 p.m. — College Park Drive — 081612 —  An 18-year-old was sending lewd texts, pictures and calling the caller after the caller asked the teen to stop.  

TRAFFIC COLLISION – NON-INJURY

  • 08/16/2012 — 4:23 p.m. — Lampson Avenue and Basswood Street— City Vehicle No. 28 hit a light pole.

DEAD BODY

  • 08/17/2012 — 10:14 p.m. — El Dorado Drive — A son discovered a parent’s dead body.  Due to unknown head trauma, the body is being held by the Orange County Coroner pending further investigation.

BUYING ALCOHOL FOR MINORS

  • 08/17/2012 — 12:33 p.m. — 5th Street and Pacific Coast — Two underage girls got a man in his 20s to purchase them alcohol. The man was described as tattooed and wearing shorts and no shirt.  

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

  • 08/18/2012 — 3:37 a.m. — Rose Circle — Unknown teens left an unknown object on the caller's window. The caller chased the subjects with a golf club, then the teens tried to hit the caller with their vehicle. They then drove into a parked vehicle before fleeing. The suspects' vehicle was a white Honda Civic, and the juveniles were all about 18-years-old.

DISTURBING THE PEACE

  • 0818/2012 — 13:09 — College Park Drive — A man said his sister tried to stab him with keys. The woman was wearing floral shirt and "booty shorts." The woman also allegedly hit the caller and beat up her boyfriend. The caller was referred to the Long Beach Police Department.

DISTURBING THE PEACE

  • 08/19/2012 — 2:33 a.m. — Main Street and Electric Avenue — A caller said people playing ping pong in a nearby garage were making excessive noise. The garage   the alley between Main Street and 8th Street. The caller called back later and said that all was quiet now.

VEHICLE FIRE

  • 08/19/12 — 4:36 p.m. — St. Andrews Drive — A vehicle was reported on fire in a carport and flames were shooting out of it. The caller was “hysterically yelling” at others to get away from the fire. A second caller said that it may not be the actual car on fire, and the smoke could be coming from nearby.
