Blotter: Caller Reports Drive-By Change Throwing

Here are five odd, interesting or important crime calls reported by Seal Beach Police Department recently.

 

ROAD RAGE

  • 09/11/2012 — 5:12 p.m. — Westminster Boulevard and Seal Beach Boulevard — While the caller was traveling eastbound on Westminster east of Seal Beach Boulevard,  the driver of another vehicle threw a handful of change at the caller’s vehicle. The alleged change-thrower was in a white Ford F-350 and the caller was driving a gray Ford F250. The caller was unsure of the damage to the vehicle yet.

  • 09/12/2012 — 5:28 a.m. — Main Street and Electric Avenue — A caller said there is a problem with trucks “racing down Main Street” every morning. The caller said the drivers speed southbound passed the parking lot by the pier. The drivers allegedly work on the oil rigs.

FRAUD REPORT

  • 09/12/2012 — 10:14 a.m.  — El Dorado Drive — A woman reported someone had made two fraudulent transactions on her credit card account totaling $4,091.46. 

ILLEGAL DUMPING

  • 09/12/2012 — 2:51 p.m. — Lampson Avenue and Heather Street — A man in a white full-size truck was reportedly dumping an unknown substance along the side of the road. A caller said he was taking the substance from barrels and dumping them on Lampson going westbound.  Officers said that it was possibly a landscaping truck.

ALLEGED ASSAULT

  • 091312 — 6:19 a.m. — Anchor Way —A man entered the Police Department’s lobby and said his wife choked and hit him. He declined medical attention. The couple is reportedly going through a divorce. The woman is at the home with their children.
