Bar Employee Stabbed in Chest by Drunk Customer in Westminster

A bar employee is stabbed twice in the chest while trying to eject a man for hassling two female customers.

A Westminster bar employee stabbed early today while trying to eject a man for hassling two female customers was hospitalized in critical but stable condition, and his attacker was at large, police said.

The Player's Lounge employee was stabbed twice in the chest about 1:30 a.m. at the bar at 7821 Westminster Blvd., Sgt. Cameron Knauerhaze said.

A drunken customer was hassling two women at the bar. The victim was stabbed as he escorted the suspect out of the lounge, Knauerhaze said.

Police were hoping to obtain surveillance video and were talking to witnesses, who described the suspect as being of Vietnamese descent, 35 to 40 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6 and weighing about 135 to 140 pounds, Knauerhaze said. He has black, short hair slicked back, is clean shaven and has brown eyes, the sergeant added.

The suspect was wearing a pink button-up shirt, white slacks and a large- faced steel watch.

Anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts was asked to call police at (714) 548-3750, or leave an anonymous tip by calling Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
