Editor’s note: Police released information about this incident on Saturday.

Seal Beach police are warning people to be on the lookout for an armed robber who held up a woman with a 10- to 12-inch knife Wednesday.

According to police, the woman was walking along Electric Avenue between 10th Street and Main Street just before 8:30 p.m. when a man got out of a car and approached her. He asked if he could use her phone to make a call. When she refused, he pulled the knife on her. Ultimately, she gave him her phone, and he drove off.

The suspect was described as clean-shaven, approximately 19-25 years old, 5-foot-9, 190 pounds with short brown hair. He was said to be wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and was seen leaving the area in a dark blue mid-1990s Honda or Nissan sedan.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Gary Krogman at 562-799–4100, Ext. 1108.
