A Pit Bull Attack and Vandals Thrash the Golf Course

In this week's Seal Beach Police blotter, officers respond to a report of a dog attacking a child, a scam targeting the elderly and vandals breaking into the golf course.

The Seal Beach Police Blotter reflects police reports from the week of Feb. 21 to Feb. 27. Notable incidents of the week involved three reports of dog bites including one incident where a pit bull was allowed to roam off-leash on a baseball field where it reportedly bit a child and could not be contained without the help of animal control.

Last week, the Old Ranch Country Golf Club was severely vandalized when unknown vandals broke in, thrashed a bathroom and threw benches and golf equipment into the lake.

The week also saw another report of an ongoing scam in which elderly victims are targeted by a caller purporting to be the victim’s grandson in jail and in need of a money wire. Anyone who believes they have been victims of such a scam should call the police department at 562-799-4100.
