Police Blotter: A Lewd Sleeper, a Stinky Shopper, and Medical Pot

In this week's police log, Seal Beach police had their hands full with reports from the silly to the serious.

November 15, 2011

At 1:52 p.m. A caller reported a person down on Pacific Coast Highway. The informant saw a man sleeping in a parking lot with his pants down exposing his genitals. The informant said the man was breathing well and appeared to just be sleeping. 

At 3:15 p.m. A caller reported a petty theft on Pacific Coast Highway. According to the report, a 17-year-old-minor was detained for stealing and was later released to a guardian after being counseled by police. 

At 5:23 p.m. A caller reported a petty theft on Ironwood Avenue. The informant reported their catalytic converter was taken from their white 91 Toyota pickup truck.

November 16, 2011

At  9:55 p.m. A caller reported non-injury traffic accident on Westminster Avenue. The informant reported seeing a Saturn drive through a fence and then take off. The vehicle’s license plate was left behind. 

November 17, 2011

At 9:17 a.m. Police reported a health and safety violation near the Kitts and Westminster Avenue intersection. A subject was being detained on suspicion of being under the influence of medical marijuana. Police checked the status of their medical marijuana card and released the subject.

At 1:39 p.m. A caller reported a disturbance on Main Street. A female transient was trying on clothes at a local retail store and was making the merchandise smell bad. 

November 18, 2011

At 10:21 a.m. A caller reported graffiti vandalism near the 6th Street and Electric Avenue intersection. According to the report, a minor driving a golf cart was seen tagging a planter. The informant said there was a large amount of gray spray paint. 

At 1:49 p.m. Police reported restraining a single subject on suspicion of being in possession of some kind of narcotics. 

At 2:00 p.m. A caller reported a drunk driver near the 405 Freeway and Seal Beach Boulevard intersection. The driver was in a small black Volkswagen and police were unable to locate the subject. 

At 4:29 p.m. A caller reported a reckless driver near the Westminster Avenue and Seal Beach Boulevard intersection. According to the report, a driver in a black Ford Mustang Cobra Fastback was seen speeding and cutting in and out of lanes.
