A Free Movie, Red Car Museum's Anniversary and Harvest Crusade

1. Today from 6:30 - 9 p.m. the community is invited to celebrate the end of summer with a free movie and fall preview by the Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department. The movie “The Avengers,” free popcorn and an ice cream sundae bar will be available. There will also be arts and crafts activities for the kids. Bring your chairs, blankets, and dinner and enjoy a night out. The event will take places at the Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department, 10911 Oak St.

2. The annual Harvest Crusade kicks off at 7 p.m. tonight at Angel Stadium with "American Idol" finalist Colton Dixon and Grammy-winner TobyMac. The event will also feature a message from Pastor Greg Laurie. The evangelistic gathering continues through Aug. 25.

3. The public is invited on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., as the Seal Beach Historical and Cultural Society celebrates the Red Car Museum’s 42nd Anniversary. The celebration will include a book signing, and presentations of the society's Historical Man and Woman of the Year. The museum is located at 707 Electric Ave. in Seal Beach.

4. On Sunday at 10 a.m., the Orange County Mustang Club will present its fifth annual Surf City Garage Car Show. The event will feature various cars, Surf City Garage Tours, vendors, a raffle and more at 5972 Engineer Dr. in Huntington Beach.

5. Today will be partly cloudy, with highs around 73 near the coast and 86-91 inland, according to the National Weather Service.
