UPDATE: Dead Bodies on 405 ID'ed

Police ask for the public's help as they investigate Saturday's double homicide, which closed the freeway for five hours.

The two men found shot to death Saturday night on the 405 Freeway in Long Beach have been identified.

Reginald Watson Sajonas, 37, of Anaheim, and Derek Alexander Pouono, 36,
of Long Beach, were discovered in a Honda Pilot on the northbound shoulder of the 405 near Atlantic Avenue around 9:30 p.m., according to police and coroner's investigators.

It was unclear if the men were killed in a car-to-car shooting, but the vehicle reportedly had bullet holes in it.

CHP officers reported hearing gunfire from a southbound vehicle shortly after arriving at the scene, but police said those shots appeared unrelated to the deaths, which were being investigated as a double homicide.

Both sides of the freeway were closed for about five hours Saturday night and early Sunday as investigators searched for clues. Traffic was diverted off the freeway at Atlantic Avenue.
