$4,000 Diamond Ring Reported Stolen

Also in Seal Beach crime calls, an elderly man walked down the middle of a city street in traffic.

Editor's Note: The following crime calls were made to the Seal Beach Police Department and listed on the SBPD dispatch log. 

CHECK WELFARE

  • 03/13/2013 — 10:06 a.m. — North Gate Road and Seal Beach Boulevard — An elderly man was walking in the middle of the street. He was wearing a black jacket, yellow scarf and black hat. A second caller said the man made it to the front of the fire department and was still walking in traffic.

GRAND THEFT

  • 03/13/2013 — 11:09 a.m. — Del Monte Drive — Someone reported a diamond ring stolen. The piece of jewelry was valued at $4,000 and may have vanished Feb. 14. No suspect information was listed in the log item.

WATER PROBLEM

  • 03/14/2013 — 10:18 p.m. — Montecito Road — Water and steam was leaking from one of the residences at the location, a caller said. The city's Public Works Department was called. A caller said he or she needed access to the location to fix problem and could not get ahold of the owners.  Someone eventually gained access through an open window.

MEDICAL AID

  • 03/14/2013 — 3:59 p.m. — 17th Street — A male transient in his 40s was having convulsions and shaking. The Orange County Fire Authority was dispatched. A resident on 17th street said the man was in a side yard.

FIREWORKS

  • 03/14/2013 — 5:09 p.m. — Bluebell —Three juveniles lit off fireworks in the park near the basketball courts.
