$3,000 Worth of Copper Stolen from Cell Site

Also in local crime calls, it turned out that a woman's tires hadn't been purposely slashed, she had just hit something while driving.

Editor's Note: The following crime calls were made to the Seal Beach Police Department and listed on the SBPD dispatch log. 

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF REPORT

  • 06/12/2013 — 10:15 a.m. —  Cottonwood Lane — A woman said the tires were slashed on her white vehicle. It later turned out there was no crime, dispatch reported. The woman apparently hit something while driving that damaged the tire and rim.
GRAND THEFT
  • 06/12/2013 — 11:55 a.m. —College Park Drive — Copper wire was stolen from a cell site. The total loss was about $3,000.

  • 06/12/2013 — 2:39 p.m. — Montecito Road — Someone reported jewelry and computer between 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

  • 06/12/2013 — 3:27 p.m. —Seal Beach Boulevard — A man in a dark gray Jeep Grand Cherokee was driving around and asking people to buy a flatscreen TV. The vehicle was searched and a citation was issued.

  • 06/13/2013 — 12:21 p.m. — Pacific Coast Highway and Seal Beach Boulevard — An old red Mercedes convertible heading northbound on Seal Beach was driving slowly and swerving back and forth in the road.
