Los Al NFL Kicker Poses in Gay Mag to Support Same-Sex Marriage

Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, former Los Alamitos High School Griffin, appears on the cover of Out Magazine and says people should "Treat others as you want to be treated."

Los Alamitos High School grad and Minnesota Vikings' kicker Chris Kluwe recently posed on the cover of the gay and lesbian magazine Out to support same-sex marriage.

In the article, the 30-year-old Southern Californian and former LAHS Griffn, said, "It's all about the Golden Rule. Treat others as you want to be treated."

"It's that simple," Kluwe said. "It's something that needs to be spoken about, and it's something I can do while fulfilling my job as a football player."

And Kluwe has spoken about the issue before.

He stepped into the frey after Maryland state delegate Emmett C. Burns Jr. sent a letter to the owner of the Baltimore Ravens, urging the team to “inhibit" the expressions of Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo who publicly favors gay marriage, according to the website Deadspin.com

Kluwe's response letter to Burns received national attention.

I can't begin to tell others how proud I am that this young athlete is a Griffin alumni.
He makes everyone who has ever been associated to LAHS proud. Sort of the inverse of what happened to Los Alamitos when former Mayor Dean Grose sent the international embarrassing "watermelon" e-mail.

Glad to know that hate and intolerance are okay when it's used to defend Christian beliefs Mike, but that hating hateful and intolerant people and calling them out for it is a bad thing in your warped lil world.

This man has a rare quality, courage. Unlike the fool in office and his minions. If you thinkRead More the Constitution is a joke, you see him as bad. If you want to be spied on by your own government, Snowden is bad. Courage is missing in the states. The military have it but not the majority of our mediocre citizens.
