Los Alamitos High School grad and Minnesota Vikings' kicker Chris Kluwe recently posed on the cover of the gay and lesbian magazine Out to support same-sex marriage.
In the article, the 30-year-old Southern Californian and former LAHS Griffn, said, "It's all about the Golden Rule. Treat others as you want to be treated."
"It's that simple," Kluwe said. "It's something that needs to be spoken about, and it's something I can do while fulfilling my job as a football player."
And Kluwe has spoken about the issue before.
He stepped into the frey after Maryland state delegate Emmett C. Burns Jr. sent a letter to the owner of the Baltimore Ravens, urging the team to “inhibit" the expressions of Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo who publicly favors gay marriage, according to the website Deadspin.com
Kluwe's response letter to Burns received national attention.
