What Is That?

OCTA's "What Is That?" program explains the prurpose of some interesting construction tools.

Let’s be honest, construction is seriously confusing. And it is not unlikely that most of us have absolutely no idea what the workers beside the freeway are actually doing.

Luckily, OCTA is beginning a new program called “What is That?” to help sort through the confusion.

Pictures of objects and materials used for construction, along with a description of their purpose, will be posted on the West County Connectors Facebook and Twitter pages and this Patch blog.

The “What Is That?” photo series is a unique and fun way to examine the masses of machines and materials and engage those of us who generally don’t know a lot about construction.

We hope that next time you drive by a construction site you won’t be puzzled, but will instead be telling others, “I know what that is.”
