Switching Lanes: 55-Hour Weekend Closure Slated for Valley View Street Bridge

Beginning this Friday, Nov. 18 through Monday, Nov. 21, the Valley View Street Bridge will be closed for 55 hours as traffic is switched to the newly constructed east half of the bridge.

Beginning this Friday, Nov. 18 through Monday, Nov. 21, the Valley View Street Bridge will be closed for 55 hours as traffic is switched to the newly constructed east half of the bridge. If there’s rain this weekend the work and closure may be rescheduled to the first weekend of December.

The switch is necessary as crews prepare to demolish and reconstruct the west half of the Valley View Street Bridge. Demolition is tentatively scheduled for early next month. 

The following will be closed between 10 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18 until 5 a.m., Monday, Nov. 21:

  • Valley View Street between Old Bolsa Chica Road and Tiffany Avenue
  •  Garden Grove Boulevard between Valley View Street to the northbound I-405 Valley View Street off-ramp
  • Westbound SR-22 freeway Valley View Street loop and straight on-ramps

 

Detour for northbound Valley View Street/Bolsa Chica Road:

  • Use Westminster Avenue

Detour for southbound Valley View Street:

  • Use Lampson Avenue
