Road Work Ahead:SB I-605/SB I-405 Connector Closed

A two-week closure on the southbound I-605 to the southbound I-405 connector begins tonight at 10 p.m. as part of the West County Connectors project.

A two-week closure on the southbound I-605 to the southbound I-405 connector begins tonight at 10 p.m. as part of the West County Connectors project. This closure is necessary to realign the connector, which will allow workers to widen the I-405 and connect the carpool lanes between the I-405 and I-605 freeways.

To ensure you arrive safely and on time to your destination, check out these four detour routes before you hit the road:

  • From the southbound I-605, exit Spring Street. Continue on Spring Street to Woodruff Avenue and proceed to the southbound I-405 on-ramp.
  • From the southbound I-605, exit Spring Street. Continue on Spring Street to Studebaker Road and proceed to the eastbound SR-22 on-ramp. Take the eastbound SR-22 connector to the southbound I-405.
  • From the southbound I-605, exit Katella Avenue and proceed east. Turn right on Los Alamitos Boulevard/Seal Beach Boulevard and proceed south to the southbound I-405 on-ramp.
  • From the southbound I-605, take the westbound SR-22 connector toward Long Beach. Exit Studebaker Road and proceed south to the eastbound SR-22 on-ramp. Proceed eastbound on the Sr-22 until the freeway transitions to the southbound I-405.

Drivers are always welcome to find detour routes that work best for their commute. If you have found another option, post it in the comment section below to share with your fellow drivers.
