Weekend Road Closures Ahead

The west half of the Valley View Street Bridge will be demolished to widen the bridge as part of the West County Connectors project.

This weekend, the west half of the Valley View Street Bridge will be demolished in order to widen the bridge as part of the West County Connectors project. As a result, portions of Valley View Street and Garden Grove Boulevard will be completely closed to traffic.

From 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Dec. 2 through Dec. 3, two major closures will be taking place and closures will be continued on Dec. 9 through Dec. 10 to finish demolition.

The work will require a closure on Valley View Street from Garden Grove Boulevard to the westbound SR-22 Valley View Street off-ramp. The second closure is taking place on Garden Grove Boulevard from Valley View Street to the northbound I-405 Valley View Street off-ramp.

Detour for Valley View Street:

  • Northbound Bolsa Chica Road/Valley View Street traffic will be detoured to use Westminster Avenue.
  • Southbound Valley View Street traffic will be detoured to use Lampson Avenue. 

Detour for Garden Grove Boulevard:

  • From Bolsa Chica Road, proceed south and turn left on Westminster Avenue, left on Goldenwest Street. Proceed north on Goldenwest Street to access the eastbound SR-22 on-ramp.

OR

  • From Valley View Street, proceed north and turn right on Lampson Avenue, turn right on Knott Street. Proceed south on Knott Street to access the eastbound SR-22 on-ramp.
