Fill A Bus With Food And Hearts with Joy
OCTA and Second Harvest are kicking off the holiday giving season with a food drive. OCTA will be at locations collecting food throughout the county, including the Laguna Hills Mall on Nov. 5.
Do you know where your next meal is coming from? Sadly, more than 600,000 Orange County residents do not have an answer to that question.
This disheartening statistic reveals that although Orange County is home to many affluent communities, there are many people struggling to survive.
Knowing this, OCTA has teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank to host a food drive today through Monday, Nov. 7.

Buses will be at four locations throughout the county this weekend, including the Westminster Mall on Nov. 6, to collect food for those in need. Residents who wish to donate can drop off non-perishable food items from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the mall, look for the big OCTA bus near Wendy’s.
If you donate five or more food items, you also will have a chance to win a free Jingle Pass. This special discounted bus pass lets you ride the bus from Nov. 15 through the end of the year – taking the stress off trying to find a parking space at crowded malls.

As you start your holiday shopping this weekend, we hope you will take a moment to help us fill a bus with food. Your donation can make the difference in the life of a young child, single parent, senior citizen or someone who is struggling to make ends meet and may otherwise go hungry.
By filling a bus with food, we also will fill many hearts with joy.
