Mitch Lucker, singer for the heavy metal band Suicide Silence, died Thursday after a Halloween night motorcycle crash in Huntington Beach, authorities said.
Mitchell Adam Lucker, 28-year-old Huntington Beach resident, passed away at a hospital after his black 2013 Harley Davidson hit a light pole in Huntington Beach, according to the city police department.
Lucker leaves behind a wife and young daughter.
The band posted a statement on their public Facebook page:
There's no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday on Main Street near 13th Street. Investigators said Lucker was traveling south on Main when he lost control. His bike hit a light pole and Lucker was thrown off. The bike continued south on Main until it hit a black 2007 Nissan Titan pickup, which was traveling north on Main. The occupants of the Nissan, as well as nearby trick-or-treaters, were not injured.
Lucker sustained severe injuries and was treated on scene by Huntington Beach Fire Department paramedics and then transferred to UCI Medical Center.
Officers are looking into the cause of the crash and trying to determine whether alcohol was a factor. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is encouraged to contact Officer Barr at 714-536-5666.
Suicide Silence is a deathcore band that has been around for about 10 years. The group has three albums, has performed at the Mayhem Festival and won the Revolver Golden God award for "Best New Talent."
