Dog Owners

Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, I was raised with dogs (now that one sounds bad) and I respected my neighbors when walking my dogs.  I don't know if the few dog walkers here in Old Town around 7th Street have a sense of entitlement or what. We have been trying to nurture the lawn back to health at one of the buildings I manage.  It's a nice building, well kept with great tenants. So in hopes of keeping the lawn healthy and strong, we put up small signs asking to please stay off the lawn. Now, most people oblige, however, there are a few that allow their dogs to poop directly in front of the signs. These few are not picking up after their dogs either. The signs are not rude, they say Please on them. One would think the nice folks in town would appreciate and respect a property and its' owners wanting to keep it looking nice and clean and well kept.  In fact is that not why you live here? So, to those few I have this to say; I'm sorry if you resent that myself or my tenants don't want your dogs pooping on the lawn, let alone allowing your dog to dig his/hers paws back and forth on the lawn destroying it. Is is that hard to fathom? Is it that hard to just pass by this property and respect the signs? Is it that hard to go walk your dog elsewhere? We don't appreciate picking up after your pet let alone having to hose down the side walk after someone steps in your dog's feces and smears it all over the grass and sidewalk.  I ask, PLEASE, be respectful. I would NOT allow my dog to go and poop on your property don't do it to ours! Not too much to ask!
