Really Really Free Day Of Unity in the Community Tomorrow at Long Beach Art District - 3rd & Elm

No plans for Sunday? Join us at the Really Really Free Day in the art district of Long Beach! Free fun family event = come learn new crafts, sing and or dance or just watch the fun begin!

The Long Beach Depot For Creative ReUse is raising awareness about the importance of "Building Unity in OUR Community through Sharing" by hosting the first ever in Long Beach "Really Really Free Day" celebration on Sunday. Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster has issued a proclamation declaring May 29, 2011, as "Really Really Free Day" and the main area of the event will be on the block where the Long Beach Depot for Creative Reuse is located, between 3rd and 4th Streets on Elm Avenue. The free family fun celebration will kick off at noon with The Recycled Drum Circle, a mix of Taiko, Cajon and bucket drums. Activities include sharing resources, crafting, information, giveaways, workshops and creative areas for singing and dancing. The event is based on the famed "Really Really Free Market," a community gathering where participants bring, and give away absolutely free, any usable items, skills, talents, friendship, discussions, games and more!

Participants include Save Our Beach, MHA Village, Save Our Oceans & Seas, City of Long Beach Office of Sustainability, Green Long Beach, Catalyst Communities, Business Friendly Bike District, Long Beach Time Exchange, House Party Swap, local artists and residents.
